2011 Quay to Quay
A glorious morning with the warm sun beating down on the eighty-seven cars and crews who met at Baiter car park in Poole on Sunday 10 April. The Mayor of Poole Councillor Chris Bulteel and his wife Angela arrived to be met by the Chairperson Sue Gotobed who escorted them around the vehicles to speak with the owners, drivers and riders before flagging off the cars on their route to Weymouth.

And with the only “bikers” on the run Brian aka “Skippy” and Sharon

The route was cunningly devised by John, Heather and Morris (aged 8), which was enjoyed by all who took part and the committee’s thanks must go to them.
But because the weather was so good traffic was quite heavy, more so when we arrived along the prom at Weymouth which due to the road works in preparation for the Olympics was an absolute nightmare, let’s hope they complete all the changes by next year!
Arriving at the pavilion car park Colin & Kath set up the club regalia stand or was it the ice cream van? (You could have made a killing if you stocked up the freezer).
However most of the cars that set off did arrive safely some a bit later than others and other thanks to the efforts of a well meaning RAC man with a love for “older” cars with a spare condenser and new points.
The Mayor of Weymouth and his good lady attended and spoke with drivers and passengers before awarding the rosettes for all those who completed the run.
